TOTAL MONEY RAISED £3400

Mick presenting the cheque to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance based at East Midlands Airport.

Hi! My name is Mick and I'm from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.

I have just completed my round-the-coast of Britain ride on my Kawasaki motorcycle to raise money for the

County Air Ambulance.

I departed on the 4th of August 2007 at 06:30am from the 54a King Street Cafe in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire and returned to the same place 9 days later and covered over 3500 miles!

There were two reasons for the trip...

The first being the ride itself...9 days and an average of 400 miles plus each day, the change of scenery & roads and the opportunity to meet new people.....what more can I say!

The second was the more serious side....raising money for the County Air Ambulance.
I chose this charity because a few years ago, a friend of mine was involved in an industrial accident and needed to be air lifted to hospital. He made a full recovery and is now my business partner.

This incident brings home the importance of the County Air Ambulance and all the good work they do.

The ride may have been a solo ride but there was a team of people making it possible. Without their help and support this ride would not have got off the ground.

Thanks for taking the time to look at the web site and thanks to everyone who donated money to a very worth while cause and thanks to everyone who got up early to see me off and took time to see me return to Melton on Sunday.
