'Road was a bit bumpy near Lowestoft...' Had a few 10 minute stops. The weather was quite warm and the roads were very busy around Great Yarmouth...all in all a good day. Another good run today. Set off at 5am this morning. Roads very busy again. Weather started off cool but by lunch time it was boiling! The last 2 hours from Plymouth to Lands End it rained. Arrived at Lands End at 5pm tonight. Well, I'm now bedding down in Penzance for the night and I'm on the top bunk...ha..ha!! Nite Nite

Yes, that is 4.30am start!! Set off this morning in the pouring rain and it rained all the way to Bude! After that the weather was good. Caravans and twisty roads are becoming a pain in the rear end. Rainy start this morning and quite cool until mid afternoon. Actually felt cold until about 5pm. Not so much traffic around today after Blackpool that is! Good start today. A bit cold but soon warmed up. Stopped at a bikers cafe in Drummore for a break. Traffic between Ayr & Glasgow was busy but soon thinned out the further north I went. Now at my digs in Fort William called 'chase the wild goose' Not sure who thought of that one but I bet there was a nice malt involved!!......Onwards and upwards!!..Nite Nite

Very misty this morning so I started a bit later. Plenty of single track roads with passing points today and plenty of sheep trying to hitch a ride! Some amazing views today after the mist had cleared. Met 2 blokes on bikes in Ullapool this morning, they were from Great Yarmouth on a touring holiday. Arrived in John O'Groats at 6pm. Now off to the digs back in Thurso....Onwards and Downwards tomorrow!!...Nite Nite

A later start today due to the fact I had to have my picture taken at John O'Groats as it was all packed up last night when I got there! Good day today, weather was good for a start then it drizzled most of the was to St Andrews. Made up some time on the duel carrigeways and traffic was not too much of a problem but roadworks seemed to be everywhere! Getting towards the end of the trip and I am beginning to feel it a bit now. A special thankyou to the Waterside Guesthouse in Thurso for putting me up at the last minute. Hoping for a good run tomorrow....Nite Nite |

Early start this morning...glad I did because the traffic was manic! To top that it rained for the first 2 hours but at least it was warm rain!! This leg for some reason seamed the longest. FINISHED!! Good run from Kingston-upon-Hull. Traffic was very busy in Skegness and Boston...no suprises there then! Last leg through Grantham and on to Melton Mowbray was quite quick. Glad I finished this side of Melton as the roadworks in the town centre would have added at least an hour onto the trip!! I will upload a detailed blog of all the journey in a couple of days along with the pictures I took around the coast. I will need a few days to collect the sponsor money and work out who's won the ipod so bear with me on that one.
